The Role: We are seeking a highly experienced, commercially astute, and strategic Finance Director to join our senior leadership team. Reporting directly to the CEO/Managing Director, you will be responsible for the entire financial health of the business, providing crucial financial insights and strategic guidance to support our continued expansion and profitability. This is a pivotal role for an individual looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic e-commerce environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Financial Leadership: Act as a key strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team, contributing to overall business strategy, growth initiatives, and long-term financial planning.
• Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes, providing insightful analysis of variances and performance.
• Financial Reporting & Control: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) in compliance with relevant accounting standards. Ensure robust internal controls, policies, and procedures are in place.
• Cash Flow Management: Proactively manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions to optimize liquidity and funding.
• Commercial Insight: Provide detailed financial analysis to support commercial decisions, including pricing strategies, new product launches, marketing effectiveness, and supply chain optimization.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, including foreign exchange exposure, credit risk, and regulatory compliance.
• Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
• Systems & Process Improvement: Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities to enhance efficiency and data accuracy.
• Taxation & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all relevant tax regulations (e.g., VAT, corporation tax, international tax implications) and statutory requirements.
• Stakeholder Relations: Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, legal advisors, and other financial stakeholders.
• Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Support (as required): Provide financial due diligence and integration support for potential acquisitions or strategic partnerships.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Professional Qualification: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a senior financial leadership role (e.g., Finance Director, Head of Finance), preferably within a fast-paced e-commerce or retail environment.
• Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of e-commerce business models, key drivers of profitability, and commercial levers.
• Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of financial accounting principles (e.g., IFRS/GAAP), budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a finance team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Systems Savvy: Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic, rapidly evolving business environment.

• Experience with international e-commerce operations and multi-currency environments.
• Previous experience operating within a remote-first or geographically dispersed team.
• Experience with M&A financial due diligence and integration.
